Lubbock Business Owner Gabe Vitela Recognized by President Trump at White House Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration

One Guy From Italy owner and Bienvenido USA member highlighted for his leadership and the impact of No Tax on Tips on his employees

LUBBOCK, TEXAS — Gabe Vitela, owner of Lubbock's One Guy From Italy and an Advisory Board member of Bienvenido USA, was personally recognized by President Donald J. Trump today during the White House's official Hispanic Heritage Month Reception.

Vitela attended at the recommendation of Bienvenido USA Founder and President Abraham Enriquez, whom the White House asked to identify an entrepreneur to be recognized at the celebration.

In front of Hispanic leaders from across the country, the President highlighted Vitela's story. Vitela spoke about how the President's policies, including No Tax on Tips, have put more money in the pockets of his employees. It was a rare national spotlight for a Lubbock small business and for West Texas.

Vitela has built One Guy From Italy into a well-known Lubbock business and a source of jobs for local workers. He has also been a leader in the wider community, including his service on the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce Board.

“I’ve been the guy waiting tables and bartending, counting on those tips to make ends meet, and today I’m blessed to be the guy signing paychecks and watching hardworking people provide for their families. To stand in the White House and speak for those workers, and to represent Lubbock and West Texas while doing it, is a moment I’ll never forget.”

“When the White House asked us to recommend someone, Gabe was the first name that came to mind. He built a business from the ground up, he takes care of his employees, and he gives back to the community he calls home. It isn’t every day the President of the United States holds up a Lubbock business owner as an example for the nation. Gabe earned that moment, and we are proud to call him part of the Bienvenido family.”

— Abraham Enriquez, Founder & President, Bienvenido USA
