Biden’s Border Band-Aid: An Election-Year Ploy

President Biden's recent Executive Order is a superficial gesture aimed at addressing border security issues that have been escalating since the beginning of his administration. His actions reveal a pattern of politicizing border security rather than providing real solutions.

This Executive Order fails to tackle core issues such as catch-and-release policies and neglects to reinstate the successful Remain in Mexico policy. It does not stop the release of up to 1,500 migrants per day, or the 30,000 migrants per month entering through Biden's mass parole program. Unaccompanied minors are exempt, raising concerns about child trafficking.

Americans are aware of Biden's election-year maneuvers. This latest Executive Order is too little, too late, and does nothing to genuinely secure our border. It is a desperate attempt to stabilize his faltering poll numbers, rather than a serious effort to address the real and pressing challenges at our southern border.

Fast Facts:

  • Biden's Executive order will not "shut down" the border or "limit" asylum claims
  • He did the opposite, in fact — by establishing a weekly minimum number of illegal entries allowed into the country and expanding eligibility for his fraudulent asylum program.
  • In short, Biden is trying to make the border invasion permanent.
  • Biden’s new order will fast-pass the entry of even more illegal crossings into the country by simply routing them to ports of entry — where they’ll be processed and released into the country to await adjudication years from now.
  • It’s yet another expansion of illegal immigration under Biden, who has already offered mass amnesty to hundreds of thousands of inadmissible immigrants.
  • Biden's failed policies created the crisis at the border, and this new executive order is too little too late.
    • In Biden's first 100 days, he took more than 94 executive actions on immigration, including halting construction of the border wall and ending the successful "Remain in Mexico" policy.
    • By his three-year mark, Biden had taken 535 executive actions related to immigration.
    • Biden’s new FY 2025 budget proposal calls for eliminating $50 million in border wall funding.
    • Illegal immigrants have confirmed this: "The border is open…everybody believes that the border is open. It's open because we enter. We come in, free, no problem…We came illegally."
  • More than 9.6 million illegal immigrants have crossed the border since Biden took office.
    • For 38 straight months, monthly encounters have been higher than even the highest month seen under the previous administration.
    • April’s 179,000-plus encounters is a 272% increase from the average number of April apprehensions during the Trump administration.
    • On day one, President Trump will seal the border, stop the invasion, and send Joe Biden’s illegal aliens back home.
  • Despite Biden's promise of a "fair and humane immigration system," his open border policies aren't compassionate; they are deadly.
  • Biden could actually shut down the border any time he wanted.
